The results are in! We’ve just heard back from Wisdom Panel and are so excited to share with you the results of Splotchy’s DNA test.

Before the results, I’d like to share the votes from the poll from the previous post I did on Splotchy:

Those were my thoughts exactly… so let’s see how we did!

I’m not surprised about the 37.5% Chihuahua… but Pekingese and Yorkshire Terrier??

Ok I guess I can see the Pekingese… the eyes and the flowy ear hair (which is the reason we sometimes call him Fabio). But the Yorkshire Terrier doesn’t make much sense to me, oh well!

My favorite part is always looking at the supposed family tree. So let’s take a gander:

It seriously cracks me up that out of his family tree the only purebred we can see is one grandparent and of course that’s a Chihuahua. And at some point someone decided to breed a Yorkie and a Pekingese for some (omg why do people do this intentionally) weird designer dog breed. I just did a quick Google search and I can’t make this ish up – they call it a “Yorkinese”.

So there you have it. Splotchy is a mix of a bunch of wussy little dogs, which makes complete sense.

Stay tuned for Mackey’s DNA results. We should have them in soon… we shipped them off on the same day after all!
