We’re looking forward to all the fun that 2019 will bring but since we have a few hours left… let’s take a look back all the fun things we’ve done in 2018 (in no particular order): Continue reading “Goodbye 2018”
The moment we had been waiting for since Christmas had arrived. It was October 6th and Loretta (my little sister) and I were in Arlington, TX for what would be an extremely fun night – the Taylor Switch reputation tour.
Almost 2 months ago, Anthony and I traveled to Orlando, FL for our company’s “Grand Meetup”. We had a blast!
See, the company we work for is distributed meaning we don’t work from one office but rather from home, coffee shops, coworking offices, or even from the road for those who are nomadic. To balance things out, for 1 week a year we all get together to hang out, learn, and work. Continue reading “Automattic Grand Meetup 2018”
Don’t be alarmed, the water you see in the photo with the train tracks is not Texas Beach. This was just my favorite photo from the hike from the parking lot to the beach on the James River.
Anthony and I have two set trips per year – once together for a week with the whole company, and once for a week with our own teammates. So I recently took a trip to Playa del Carmen in Mexico with 8 of my teammates! It was hot, humid, and the wifi was bad, but the weather was gorgeous and so was the city and all of the nature around it. Honestly this was one busy week so I’m not even sure how I remember what happened each day… Continue reading “Playa del Carmen in May”
Buffalo fries, hot and cheesy! I’m normally not much of a fry person, but these hit the spot. River City Diner is close to our house and one of our first favorites to discover once we moved to Richmond.
Ok, I bet you came here just to furiously respond “BUT IT’S MONDAY!!!” and I’m sorry for even bringing up Friday this early in your work week but… Continue reading Happy Friday!
We moved from Texas to Virginia about 4 months ago now and I have to say one of my favorite non-food finds since moving here is Escape Nails & Spa. I’ve had several great experiences at this spa, so I wanted to write up a little about what happens at this magical place. Continue reading It’s Time to Spa
That’s what I wear to work every day and I wouldn’t change it for the world. A year ago I finished up my “trial” with Automattic where I performed contract work for 6 weeks as I learned the role, exhibited my work habits, and showed my value. I was passed along to our CEO Matt Mullenweg for one final chat during the hiring process. Our … Continue reading Pajama Pants
It was finally time to say goodbye to Italia after our stops in Venezia (Venice), Firenze (Florence), and Roma (Rome). Time to head back home to our family, friends, and pets. First stop? Dusseldorf where we had a pretty long layover. So naturally we had a bit of German food and converted our remaining Euros back to USD… oh how Anthony missed USD. When we … Continue reading Home from Italia
